接待家庭手冊

疫情漸緩，各種形式的國際交流開始慢慢啟動，不管是國人出境或是外國人入境，「接待家庭」已成為「交流」的一種模式。藉由「接待家庭」的體驗，既能真實體會當地生活的型態，又能與寄宿家庭因互動而自然增進語言能力，故「接待家庭」儼然成為目前臺灣政府與民間積極推廣的國際交流方式。
本縣國際教育資源中心在苗栗縣政府大力支持下，特別制定「接待家庭」手冊，讓接待家庭能依此交流手冊，能讓接待者快速上手，展現好國際友好的關係。透過簡單明瞭的手冊書寫，讓更多有興趣參與的家庭快速成為接待家庭。讓外國朋友帶著開放友善的心情，體驗苗栗多元文化的蓬勃活力，從中拓展交流的生活廣度與文化深度。我們期待來臺學生能因優質的接待品質，體驗豐碩的苗栗在地文化，遊歷苗栗最美的風景—人情味，留下遊歷旅程的美好經驗。
本手冊由本縣國際教育資源中心規劃，委由中心主任方麗萍校長，帶領國際教育夥伴們—林恩惠校長、杜思慧課督、黃琇苓老師、曹珈菱老師、傅雅暉老師、歐綉玲老師、周碩政老師、彭仁星老師、徐俊斌老師、呂佳玲老師、林郁瑾老師、劉又慈老師、劉蔓寧老師，歷經半年專業對話，不斷激盪與修正，設計出專屬苗栗在地的接待家庭手冊。
感謝參與手冊製作編撰的每一個人，因您無私的奉獻，本手冊內容包括接待家庭的心態、生活，並透過家庭、學校、在地文化共生的串聯營造，藉由深入苗栗生活的漫步行旅，開啟外國旅者不可思議的探險奇程—苗栗五行，讓他們能邁開步伐行走苗栗，真切感受苗栗的土會黏人，走進會讓人深深著迷與感動的苗栗好地方。

As the pandemic gradually eases, international exchanges are slowly resuming. Whether it’s Taiwanese traveling abroad or international visitors entering Taiwan, the concept of “host families” has emerged as an important and increasingly popular form of cultural exchange. By staying with a host family, international guests can experience authentic local life while naturally improving language skills through daily interaction. As such, hosting has become a key approach promoted by both the government and civil society in Taiwan.
With strong support from the Miaoli County Government, the Miaoli International Education Resource Center has developed the Host Family Handbook. This guide is designed to help families new to hosting quickly understand the essentials and engage confidently in international exchange. Written in a clear and practical style, the handbook encourages more families to join the program and open their homes to international visitors.
Through warm hospitality and meaningful cultural interactions, host families help international guests explore the rich, vibrant multicultural life of Miaoli. In turn, students visiting Taiwan gain an unforgettable experience, discovering Miaoli’s most beautiful scenery—its people. We hope they return home with deep memories of genuine connection and local culture.
About This Handbook
This handbook was developed by the Miaoli International Education Resource Center, under the leadership of Principal Fang Li-Ping, in collaboration with an experienced international education team:
Lin En-Hui, Du Si-Hui, Huang Xiu-Ling, Cao Jia-Ling, Fu Ya-Hui, Ou Xiu-Ling, Zhou Shuo-Zheng, Peng Ren-Xing, Xu Jun-Bin, Lü Jia-Ling, Lin Yu-Jin, Liu You-Ci, and Liu Man-Ning.
Over six months of professional dialogue, brainstorming, and revisions, the team crafted a host family guide tailored specifically to Miaoli’s local culture and needs. The handbook includes sections on hosting mindset, daily living, and the integration of family, school, and local culture, encouraging meaningful exchanges and authentic experiences.
International visitors are invited to embark on a one-of-a-kind cultural journey—“Miaoli’s Five Elements”—a slow travel exploration into Miaoli’s everyday life, where they will feel warmly welcomed and deeply moved by the charm of this region. They’ll soon discover that Miaoli’s earth is not only rich—it sticks to your heart.
