曾獲十大傑出青年藝術文化獎的國際陶藝大師李仁燿，出生於苗栗草莓的故鄉大湖鄉農村，從事陶藝創作已有34年，至今仍埋頭創作精進陶藝技巧。位於大湖酒莊草莓文化館二樓的李仁燿藝術館日前開幕，李仁燿從小因為書法而對藝術產生濃厚興趣，就學期間也學習書法、素描和水彩，最後一心投入陶藝創作。李仁燿表示，開始研究手拉坏中難度最高的小口瓶，運用家鄉在地富含23％～26％鐵質的苗栗土，以一氣呵成的精神與技法拉製出瓶口內徑最小只有0.01公分，瓶口只有髮絲般的細小，開創了小口瓶的新天地，更與小口瓶共同建構陶藝生命創作的新時代，而手拉坯小口瓶也被國內外不少收藏家和美術館收藏。大家不妨前往一探陶藝和書法之美，欣賞世界陶藝經典之作的手拉坯小口瓶。

公館紅棗的起源，是來自陳鎮球的曾曾祖陳煥南，成為台灣種植紅棗的第一人。西元 1875年，友人從大陸攜來兩株棗樹，一開始只是給小孩子當零食吃，沒想到卻從此在公館生了根。1937年，母株分枝變四株，在40 年代後，開始分贈親朋好友，種棗樹才普遍了起來。鄉內棗樹如同大陸的雞心棗一樣大小，經過一百多年來的獨立演化，已經和大陸現有的品種產生區隔。農業改良場專家則把公館的紅棗稱為「煥南種」，有尖頂和平頂兩個品系。多年來，雖然也有人移植外地棗樹，但很難繁衍，有些活了也不結果，有些結果了卻在成熟前掉果或黑果，只有煥南種完全適應公館的環境與氣候，成為真正的台灣紅棗。
